Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to work based in Waltham Forest, within the Special Guardian and Connected Persons Assessment Team.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker role is £42,869 per annum.
Main Duties:
- To assess Special Guardians and connected carers, providing support alongside this where the child is already in placement under a temporary approval.
- To devise support plans and seek approval of these, supporting up to the point of the order and then working with the post order support team to hand the support over.
- Manage a caseload as well as contribute to team effort in, supporting and advising colleagues and carers.
- Actively promote and provide training and development for carers.
- Connected Persons/Special Guardian assessment and support.
- Care Standards investigations.
- Liaise internally and externally and work with colleagues from other agencies to ensure children and young people’s interests are supported.
- Provide professional expert advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies in supporting children and young people and carers.
- Forms and procedures development.
- Supervisory visits.
- Accurate and contemporaneous recording.
- Provide evidence in court.
- Plan, deliver, and oversee programmes or packages of care and/or support or other interventions for a complex caseload. Monitor and review cases.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Recent post-qualifying experience within frontline social work, including experience in a children & families setting and experience undertaking complex casework within a statutory children’s setting.
- Knowledge of SGO, Fostering Regulations, and NMS and ensure these are met.
- IT skills including use of Microsoft applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
