Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Devon in a Permanency and Transitions Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £38 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3 -month contract.

Duties:

  • The team works with children in care and care leavers aged 0 - 25.
  • The role will involve child in care visits, reviews, PEPs, organising health assessments, referrals to CAMHS and other services as needed, direct work with children, organising contact and liaising with families, considering rehab home plans, working towards permanence, preparing for independence, life story work, covering duty, supporting colleagues, attending team meetings and other relevant tasks.
  • The team encourage a balance of working as part of a team and remote working; flexibility can be discussed at interview and agreed if meets the needs of the service.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
  • Experience of working with children in care is essential and are looking for somebody who can form positive relationship quickly with a focus on achieving good outcomes for children with a permanency plan to remain looked after.
