Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within a Learning Disabilities Team in Newham. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adults' Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £28 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
About the role:
- Assess and review the needs of adults with learning disabilities and their carers.
- Undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and participate in the associated Best interests decisions.
- Providing advice to families and carers in support of people living with learning disabilities and autism.
- Participate in Continuing Health Care Assessment processes.
- Undertake safeguarding adults enquiries and contribute to safeguarding adults processes.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Adults' Services
- Sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Statutory Policy/Guidance on Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity Act 2005 is necessary for this role
- Ability to identify when deprivation of liberty is occurring and seek the right guidance on how to address it.
