Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Ealing, within the Kinship Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £30 - £32 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties of the Social Worker:
- Initiate Permanency Planning meetings and include all professionals involved with the child to gather information about the child and agree a permanency plan of a long term match with either the foster carer that the child currently resides with or to find a new long term foster family, and timescales around this.
- Completing a profile of the child.
- Work with other professionals in advising about any preparation work to be undertaken with the child.
- Be the lead in searching for approved permanent foster carers nationally and identifying possible links to consider alongside the child's social worker.
- Preparing a plan of introductions and facilitate smooth transitions for children to their permanent foster homes.
- Engaging and working together with prospective long-term foster carers
- Supervising social workers and the child's social workers in completing comprehensive matching reports and support plans
- To present long term matches at the fostering panel.
- With the IRO and agreeing the match at the child's LAC review.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Previous experience working in a similar team is essential
