Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Social Worker to work full-time in Stevenage. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Consultant Social Worker job is £39,782 - £42,683 per annum.
The Joint Child Protection Investigation Team is a multi-agency, co-located team of Social Workers and Police Officers, and is based at police HQ in WGC. The team covers the whole County, dealing with Joint S.47 Investigations where a child or young person has been subjected to a physical assault (with injury), or sexual assault by a family member/carer, significant neglect or child death which is deemed to be suspicious.
Duties:
- The role will include supporting less experienced members of the team.
- Managing the duty system on a rota basis, including facilitating strategy meetings and allocation of cases in the absence of the team manager, providing management cover as appropriate.
- Personal supervision of Children's Practitioners.
- Taking a lead in practice development and supporting the team manager.
Requirements of the Consultant Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Must have substantial Safeguarding experience, with experience of undertaking Assessments under S.47
- Must be a car driver
