Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Havering, within the Fostering Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £32 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties of the Social Worker:

  • Contribute to the delivery of an effective children's social care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Manage caseloads dependent upon experience, grade of post and complexity of cases, utilising specialist knowledge for appropriate interventions, needs and risk assessments, care planning and child protection investigations
  • Carry out high quality assessments, using child-centred, community focused, and multi-agency interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships and to secure the best outcomes for children and young people
  • Ensure children and young people are adequately protected in line with Havering LSCB and departmental policy and procedures and relevant legislation.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's services
  • Comply with Health and Safety Regulations associated with your employment
  • Be aware of the council's responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1984 for the security, accuracy and relevance of all personal data held on such systems and ensure that all processes comply with this
  • To treat all information acquired through your employment, both formally and informally, in strict confidence. There are strict rules and protocols defining employees' access to and use of the council's databases, any breach of which will be regarded as subject to disciplinary investigation
  • You may be required to work at any Council site
