Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work part-time in Luton in the Family Safeguarding. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £28 - £34 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Following the success from Hertfordshire County Council trialling the "Family Safeguarding Model" Luton Council Children's Services are one of 5 Local Authorities to have been awarded £2.5m by the DfE Innovation fund to trial the Family Safeguarding Model for a period of 2 years.
There are 5 teams for this model - North, East, South, West & Central - The new model will be being phased out across the teams one by one - therefore the successful candidates for these roles will need to bear in mind there will be a period of transition in which training will be being provided from the DfE funding to all involved.
Working days are flexible for the 17 hours, however this will need to be in line with the needs of the service LBC provide.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- The ideal candidates will need to have a strong understanding of the "Toxic Trio"
- Ability to manage own case load is essential.

- Referral & Assessment
- Intake assessments
- Child Protection
- Care Proceedings
