Are you a committed, experienced child care social worker with a particular interest in fostering team is a specialist team which works in close collaboration with colleagues across Achieving for Children to find short term and permanent fostering placements for children, alongside undertaking the full range of family placement fostering roles and responsibilities, including assessing and supporting kinship placement arrangements.

Our Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) was created in August 2018 and the Kingston and Richmond Branch was inspected in September 2019 and achieved a "Good" rating in all areas. The Windsor and Maidenhead branch of the IFA will be separately inspected within the next year.

Achieving for Children was created by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in 2014, and since then has been commissioned to deliver children's services on behalf of both local authorities. In August 2017, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead became the third owner of the company.

We are looking for experienced social workers with good assessment, communication and report writing skills, and the motivation to achieve excellent standards in contributing to the development of our service. Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Maidenhead in a Family Placement Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £32,192 to £36,303 per annum.

Duties:

  • As a Social Worker your role will be to work with colleagues to provide the full range of fostering services, including recruitment, assessment, training and supervision/support, and share the role of duty social worker within the team.
  • You will undertake a range of work to safely place and work to achieve permanency plans for children.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
  • The post will require daily use of a car and some evening and occasional weekend work.
  • Some knowledge of legislation, procedure, practice and guidance for children and young people in relation to fostering is essential.
