Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Reading in a Family Intervention Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £38 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3 -month contract.

Duties:

  • Undertake assessments and where appropriate arrange accommodation for children and young people.
  • To work with children and young people, families, carers and communities to help them make informed decisions, engender change, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to service planning.
  • To develop and maintain positive working relationships with service users and other professionals
  • To keep up to date with contemporary issues in children's social work including legislation, evidence based practice and to attend relevant training and development opportunities.
  • To liaise with colleagues in own, other directorates and external agencies in order to gather information relevant to assessment and care planning activities, jointly plan and deliver interventions.
  • Maintain and update case notes and other records, write reports as required; if required, give evidence in court in relation to care proceedings.
  • Participate in planning/reviewing the cases of children in care; supervise fostering/adoption arrangements.
  • To act as lead professional with regards to Core groups etc. Lead and monitor multi-agency actions and objectives

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
