Sanctuary Personnel, a committed and competitive recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full time based in Southend-on-Sea, within the Edge of Care Team.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £32,234 - £37,890 per annum.

Duties:

  • Working with children and young people who are accommodated by the local authority and it has been identified reunification is a potential, to undertake Reunification Assessment
  • Work with children at risk of entering care or at risk of foster placement breakdown, provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people appropriate to experience and capabilities
  • Ensure the highest of professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation regulation and practise methods
  • Provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed
  • Investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of the information, evidenced conclusions and realistic action plans
  • Adopt the Department for Education, NSPCC and Southend Reunification Practice Framework to recommend if it is suitable for a child to return home to birth family
  • Completing thorough assessments; analysis of risk and protective factors; analysis of parental capacity to sustain change; decision making; planning; and support for reunification
  • Support families to sustain the changes that will make it safe for the child to return to birth families
  • Working within high-end social care, CIN, Child Protection and intervention proceedings

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Qualifications or advanced training within a children social care environment
  • Previous experience working within high-end social care, CIN, Child Protection and intervention proceedings
  • Experience in analysis and evidence gathering
  • Experience in working within a local authority setting and be able to demonstrate your commitment to effective team working, excellent communication skills, be proficient with using various computer systems and programmes, have good time management and be able to work under pressure
