Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Croydon, Early Help Locality team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the Social Work England.

The post holder will hold a caseload of children and families with complex needs that would benefit from social work intervention within the early help context, they will be part of the locality team and work alongside keyworkers, intervention and specialist workers and partner agencies to provide coordinated support for children and families

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £37,842 - £39,774 per annum.

Duties of the Social Worker:

  • To assess and deliver intensive whole family interventions for Croydon families who are identified as having children and young people who are at risk of poor outcomes
  • To support children and families through intensive early help support, enabling sustained and positive change
  • The core of this role is to directly deliver positive safety and well-being outcomes for children in need and their families
  • Engagement and relationship building / maintaining
  • Making professional judgments and recommendations on the basis of assessment and review
  • The matching of child / family with evidence-based services relevant to the identified needs
  • To take individual and collective professional responsibility for championing the council's diversity agenda, proactively implementing initiatives which secure equality of access and outcomes. Commit to continually developing personal understanding of diversity
  • Reaching evidence-based professional judgments, recommendations and plans in situations of need and risk
  • Making professional decisions that impact on the safety and well-being of children and young people
  • To maintain up-to-date knowledge of research findings, legislation, statutory guidance and policy developments relevant to the service area
  • To apply the research evidence, legislation, guidance etc. in practice: in assessments, professional judgments, care plans, direct help and matching of child / family needs and services

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
