Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in Wigan, within the Duty and Assessment Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £30 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties:
- Working in a busy and friendly team and will work predominantly with children in need, child protection, care proceedings and private law applications, working on a longer-term basis with children, young people and their families, providing help and support to help families make effective change.
- Ensure the delivery of a high quality and effective social work service to facilitate, empower and promote independence, strengths and assets of both individuals and local communities.
- Work in partnership with children, young people and parents, some of whom can be difficult to engage.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Must have two years statutory social care experience either in Duty and Assessment or a locality team
- Must be an excellent communicator who understands the value and importance of integrated working.
- Must be a strong team player who is used to working in a person-centred way
- Thorough knowledge and experience of legislation, statutory guidance and regulations relating to children in need of support or protection.
- Experience of safeguarding and court work.
