This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker within the Children We Care For Team at West Sussex! Earning £38 per hour, you can choose to be based in Horsham, Chichester, or Worthing, with flexible hybrid working arrangements. You’ll embark on a rewarding adventure across the UK, building meaningful relationships with children and young people to support their journey into brighter futures. An ongoing role that offers the chance to work full-time and utilise your skills where they really matter. What you will do:

  • Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and young people to aid recovery and foster future aspirations.
  • Conduct assessments to identify risks and needs, using your frontline social work experience and excellent judgment skills.
  • Engage with multi-agency teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support for children in care.
  • Travel to meet children wherever they are placed, including after school and early evening visits.
  • Participate in duty work two days a month, supporting the office team as needed.
  • Occasionally undertake court work to advocate for the needs and rights of children.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years post-qualified experience in children’s social care within a local authority setting in England.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for travel across rural locations.
  • Commitment to the core principles of direct work, aiming to make tangible differences in the lives of children and young people.
  • Proven ability to maintain professional relationships and deliver results in complex scenarios.
