Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Children in Care Team to work full time based in Guernsey.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £61,707 per annum.
Main duties:
- To hold a caseload of Children in Care where decisions have been made about permanence, ensuring appropriate care planning is in place and that the cases are reviewed within appropriate timescales.
- To case manage a number of care requirements which will be reviewed on an annual basis by CYCT.
- To undertake direct work with children and young people, including life story work.
- To coordinate and facilitate regular team around the child meetings.
- To maintain and support children in their placements, ensuring the child, their carers, parents and other professionals are consulted and kept informed.
- To attend court and CYCT, prepare reports and to represent Children & Family Community Services, both orally and in writing in an appropriate manner at all times.
- To attend strategy meetings and undertake child protection investigations when these occur on active cases.
- To undertake out of jurisdiction visits in the United kingdom as required.
- To work in cooperation with parents, carers, colleagues and other agencies, ensuring the child is central to any process.
- To ensure that the States of Guernsey policies, procedures and legislation are adhered to.
- To actively participate in monthly supervision sessions with their line manager.
- To participate in a duty rota to provide an emergency service out of hours and also when in the work setting.
- To undertake any other duties as may be determined by the service from time to time.
Requirements of this Social Worker role:
- A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Relevant Social Work experience.
