Locum Social Worker – Children in Care Team – Lancashire
We present an exciting opportunity for a Locum Social Worker to join the Children in Care Team in Lancashire, earning a competitive rate of £39 per hour. This full-time role is ongoing, offering a fulfilling and dynamic working environment. Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services, recently awarded a ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, require a full-time social worker who will work with dedication and enthusiasm to make a real difference. The role allows for hybrid working, with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office, though there is flexibility based on service requirements. Candidates must have experience in frontline children’s social work within local authorities and be competent in managing caseloads, data input, and keeping case records up to date.

What you will do:
- Manage a varied caseload of children in care, ensuring all casework is carried out in line with statutory guidelines and standards
- Conduct assessments and develop care plans tailored to the individual needs of children and their families
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of children
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring all documentation is completed to a high standard
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to children and foster carers, ensuring placements are stable and all parties are well-supported
- Contribute to team meetings and offer insights from your cases to improve overall service delivery
