Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within a Child Protection/Children in Need Team based in York. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £38 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 6-month contract.
Main Duties/Areas covered:
- Emergency Child Protection responses
- Child Protection Conference reporting
- Producing accurate, high quality and timely assessments and reports for both CP/CIN.
- Responding to tight deadlines in a fast-paced specialist children's social work team;
- Using case recording systems (ideally Mosaic).
- Duty work
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Be resilient with the ability to work at home, supported remotely by managers and a wider team.
- Demonstrate recent experience in CP/CIN social work.
- Be enthusiastic with a 'can do' attitude, great communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to prioritise their workload.
- Have active listening skills, and be able to assimilate a variety of information in assessments and reports.
- Be able to analyse key facts and reach quick balanced decisions determining appropriate courses of action.
