Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time in an Adults Mental Health Team based in Kingston. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice in Adult Services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £32 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for managing a caseload of customers with complex needs, with a specific focus on transitions cases. This is an ideal opportunity for a social worker wishing to gain experience in this specialised role.
  • Undertake statutory duties related to the care of adults and of their carers as defined in the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 with an emphasis on Care Act Assessments and Safeguarding.
  • Provide a professional social work intervention aimed at achieving specific outcomes in order to improve the customers wellbeing, independence, & recovery.
  • Undertake effective work in collaboration with health colleagues from Mental Health Trusts in order to provide an effective integrated health and social care service. For the transitions caseload, this will consist of joint work with children's services via our transitions hub.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adult Services
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Care Programme Approach would be advantageous.
