Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency is currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to work based in Southend-on-Sea, within the Adult Learning Disability Team.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker role is £38,000 per annum.

Main Duties:

  • Care Act assessments.

  • Mental Capacity assessments.

  • Court of Protection applications and reviews.

  • Support citizens across Southend-on-Sea with the aim to offer the appropriate support in the right place at the right time.

  • Understand individual’s strengths, assets, and wishes to maximise their potential for independence, recognising the importance of assuming that the individual is best places to know their own outcomes, goals, and wellbeing.

  • Undertake assessments and to support individuals to develop personalised care plans that take account of community assets, informal networks, universal services, and other support and provision which reduces dependency.

  • Promote an asset and strengths-based approach to social work practice.

  • Work closely with all partners across Health and Social Care to ensure that there is effective coordination of interdependences including the management of and resolution of risks and other issues that may arise.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work.

  • Current Social Work England registration.

  • 6 months qualified social worker with experience in Adults Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, self-directed support, LiquidLogic, NHS Continuing Healthcare and experience of undertaking safeguarding investigations.

  • Good understanding and a strong willingness and determination to deliver on the national Learning Disability agenda.
