Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within an Adults Hospital Team based in Worthing. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work practice in Adult Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £28-£30 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 3-month contract.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work.

  • Must hold a Social Work or other professional qualification relevant to the role eg DipSW, CQSW, DipOT, and be registered with a relevant professional body

  • Current Social Work England registration.

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adult Services

  • Able to work under stress

  • FWi desirable or equivalent

  • Proven track record of working in fast environments

  • Must have significant knowledge, experience and specialist communication skills to gather information and make a full assessment of the risks, protection and social care needs of individuals, carers and families

  • Must have skills of a multidisciplinary team working, and have the ability to work independently and work as an autonomous professional and based on needs and risks of the individual take appropriate action, in conjunction with other agencies, to protect and safeguard adults at risk

  • Some knowledge of care benefits, fees and allowances (desirable)

  • Experience and all good knowledge of principles and processes of working with safeguarding adults at risk

  • Must be able to fulfil transport requirements

  • Must be able to use paper and computerised case recording systems, produce reports and capture and analyse information

  • Must be able to assess risks, needs and information, and recognise problems

  • Required to use professional knowledge to assess, monitor and review social care needs of individuals, relatives and carers and to arrange the provision of appropriate care services

  • Required to manage an agreed case load and complete fast turnover of casework

  • Must be able to assess risks, needs and information, and recognise problems

  • Must be computer literate and have basic numeracy skills

  • Understand philosophies, professional social work issues and the legal framework underpinning care services

  • Must possess good communication skills with ability to negotiate with services users
