Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within a Adults Access Team in South Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in adults' services and be registered with the HCPC.

The Salary for this Permanent Social Worker role is £28,785 - £31,371 per annum.

About the role:

  • Carry out assessment of needs, providing advice and guidance to service users and their carers, in order to establish support plans where appropriate, ensuring that services are effective and meet legislation, regulations and codes of practice.

  • To work as part of the Duty and Assessment team, the work is short term and requires a timely response. You will ensure that communication is effective and that knowledge, and best practice is promoted.

  • To work as a duty social worker and feel confident with Safeguarding cases. Follow procedures in order to protect adults at risk from abuse. Robust risk assessments, sharing information, accurate recording and team working are all essentials.

  • To manage own complex caseload or specific projects to ensure specialist inputs are obtained and effective outcomes achieved.

  • Support the delivery of designated areas of work by coordinating day to day operations and contributing to developing projects and processes.

  • Raise awareness of a range of care issues and their implications and carry out risk assessments where appropriate, in order to ensure that needs are assessed and appropriate action is taken.

  • To maintain a person centred focus at all times.

  • Complete and present records and reports in accordance with professional and council guidelines.

  • Make recommendations for significant budget spend ensuring that maximum value is delivered for the resources deployed and contribute to budget management or directly manage a small designated budget. This will ensure that the maximum value is delivered for the resources deployed.

  • Represent the Council's interests ensuring that the Council's position is advocated.

  • Contacts and Relationships.

  • You will build effective relationships with colleagues, internal and external customers.

  • You will work in partnership with them, communicating and influencing them.

  • You may work with challenging customers who have specialist needs.

  • You will work as part of a busy Duty and assessment team but also have initiative to work individually

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current HCPC registration

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within adults' services
