Sanctuary Social Care has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work full-time within an Adoption Team based in Southend. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is £31,371 - £36,876 per annum.
Summary:
- The team consists of 6 social workers, a manager and 2 administrators and covers all aspects of adoption work. The successful applicant will be involved in the recruitment, assessment and support of prospective adopters. Alongside this they will have the opportunity to be involved in finding families for children requiring adoption and in supporting the child's social worker in negotiating through the adoption process. There is also an increasing opportunity to support young people and adults in a post adoption capacity.
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in Social Work
- Current HCPC registration
- A minimum 2 years' experience within Children's Services
- Experience of assessment and direct work with children.
- A working knowledge of attachment and trauma, able to work with a tram and be flexible in hours to meet the needs of the families worked with.
- A driving licence is preferable as we are part of a regional Adoption Agency covering a large geographical area.
