Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for a Social Work Team Manager to work full time (37 hours per week) based in Southend-on-Sea, within the Child Protection Team.
The salary for this permanent Social Work Team Manager job is £45,859 - 53,840 per annum.
Hybrid working opportunities are available, however a flexible approach is needed as you will be required on site and to travel around the borough, as and when needed.
Manage a team of social work, care and administration staff and be responsible for the provision of services to children and young people.
Ensure that child protection enquiries, assessments & support services are consistently completed to a high standard.
Provide formal, professional supervision to staff, ensuring that appraisals are undertaken, identify skills gaps or training needs.
Be responsible for monitoring and reporting on the team's performance, standards and quality of work to ensure that the council complies with policy, procedures and professional standards.
Support the staff to formulate, agree and monitor care plans for children and young people in need, looked after or in need of protection.
Requirements of the Social Work Team Manager:
Social and Healthcare Qualified
Current Social Work England registration
Post qualifying practitioner experience in Children's Social Work, including having practised in an Advanced Practitioner role or above in child protection or looked after children’s services for at least two years
Creative in relation to service development and driving forward change and possess knowledge of and be committed to the restorative practice model which underpins all of the services
Have a passion for working with children and young people who are in care
