Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for a Social Work Team Manager to work based in Totnes, within the Children & Families Team.


The pay rate for this locum Team Manager job is £44 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Duties:

  • Working creatively within our restorative practice model to promote positive change within the home environment
  • Managing a small team of practitioners, you’ll embed a high-performance culture by helping your team to continually develop their skills so that they can achieve the best outcomes for our children and their families
  • Through reflective supervision meetings with your team of social workers, you’ll champion their personal and professional growth
  • Be responsible for the allocation and oversight of cases within your defined area, ensuring quality standards are maintained, as well as supporting social workers to identify risk and decide when to take protective action
  • Support social workers through formal legal proceedings and attend court, working in partnership with our Legal Team

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • A recognised and relevant professional social work qualification (Degree / Diploma in Social Work)
  • Registered on Social Work England
  • Previous management experience is desired, however we welcome applications from candidates looking to take the next step in their careers
  • Passionate individuals to make an impact on the lives of the children and families we work with
  • An outstanding social worker with a strong understanding of safeguarding
  • Significant post-qualifying experience gained within at least two different social care environments
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring qualified and unqualified colleagues
  • First-class interpersonal skills, to support the need to deal with complex social care issues
  • Good understanding of managing complex cases, including court work
  • Demonstrable experience of promoting practice that improves outcomes for children, and an understanding of challenging underperformance where needed
