Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Work Team Leader to work full-time in a Fostering Team in Barnsley. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £38,000.00 - £40,000.00 per annum.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an "outstanding" fostering agency as a Team Manager for a well established and experienced fostering team in Barnsley. This is due to retirement of the existing manager who will be available to support the successful applicant to settle into the team.

The Team Manager will manage, motivate, supervise and support a small social work team covering South and West Yorkshire. Safeguarding is our priority and ensuring children have the best possible life chances with our foster carers who we have a duty of care to and ensure they are fully supported and trained as well as having many lovely social opportunities for children and carers.

Duties:

  • You will develop and maintain good relations with local authorities within the area in order to ensure there is placement choice and further the reputation of the IFA
  • You will ensure that carers are informed of, and fully comply with all standards, policies and guidance, including safeguarding and achieving excellent outcomes.
  • You will be part of strategic management decisions and ensuring our compliance and risk management is strong.
  • You will oversee a small budget for your specified area
  • You will access the support of a dedicated recruitment and referrals team including local marketing support to grow the carer population in your area
  • You will report to and provide information to the Registered Manager and Regional Director for the North region
  • You will occasionally act as Panel Advisor on an established and experienced panel
  • You will work alongside the MATS (Multi-disciplinary Assessment and Treatment Service) Lead Clinician and Senior Practitioner to secure therapeutic support packages for carers and children.

Requirements of the Team Leader:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
