Sanctuary Personnel, a leading and award-winning recruitment agency is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Social Worker to work based in Brecon as a Family Time Worker.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker role is £15 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 1-month contract.
Main Duties:
- To supervise contact between children, young people and their parents or other significant person in their life. This contact can be with newborn babies up to young people up to the age of 18 years.
- At times, to transport children to and from the contact venue.
- To supervise the contact between children and/or young people and their parent/carer or other agreed person, adhering to the contact agreement and risk assessment.
- Ensure that children are safeguarded from risk at all times during contact. Any safeguarding concerns should be reported to the line manager and Social Worker immediately.
- To ensure that the people having contact with the children are in the right frame of mind, and not obviously under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to enable the contact to proceed without risk to the children.
- To prepare the room for contact prior to the contact, making sure the room is set up so it is age appropriate including the equipment and/or games, toys etc.
- To record observations during supervised contact, taking into account parents’ capacity to meet the needs of their children.
Requirements of Social Worker:
- Diploma or equivalent in social work.
- Current Social Care Wales registration.
- Recent post qualification experience in frontline social work, including experience of working with children and their carers, managing individuals in highly emotional states, and working in a care-related service.
- Have an understanding of the needs of Service Users and their Carers, safeguarding issues, and knowledge of current legislation.
- Full driving licence and access to personal vehicle to travel extensively both inside and outside of the county.
- Ability to speak Welsh or be prepared to learn within a reasonable time period.
