Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for a Social Work Assistant to work in Luton/Milton Keynes on a full-time basis, within the Fostering Team.
The salary for this role is £22,500 per annum.
Duties:
- Co-working with qualified staff to enhance the support and supervision provided to foster carers.
- Attend statutory meetings as required following policies and procedures.
- Undertake unannounced visits except for the first in a review year, which should be carried out by a qualified member of staff.
- Undertake annual health and safety checks.
- Interview and record details on back-up carers.
- Support visits and telephone calls to back-up carers when children are with them.
- Supporting the learning and professional development of back-up carers.
- To undertake administrative tasks for Supervising Social Workers as allocated by managers including the production of monthly progress reports for placing authorities.
Requirements of the Social Work Assistant:
- Experience within a similar role
- Full driving licence for at least 2 years.
- NVQ 3 childcare or equivalent.
- Flexible and able to work within a team setting, well presented.
- Assessed at application and/or interview and during performance evaluations.
- Good understanding of child development.
- IT skills.
- Good verbal and written communication (in English).
- Working knowledge of child protection and fostering regulations and standards.

- Pension - 3% Employer Contribution, 5% Employee Contribution. Anchor operates a Workplace Pension Scheme with OPT Pensions.
