Sanctuary Personnel, an award-winning and renowned Recruitment Agency is looking for a Social Work Advanced Practitioner to work full-time based in Havering, within the Interventions Team.

The pay rate for this locum Advanced Practitioner role is £40 per hour (Assignment rate) and is a 1-month contract.

Weekend and evening working is a regular feature of this job.

Duties:

  • Directly manage and supervise a small number of qualified and non-social work staff
  • Manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases
  • Support team manager in maintaining and developing high professional standards across the team
  • Represent the service in developing key service provision or local strategic initiatives
  • Take responsibility for developing skills, expertise and knowledge for a wide range of practice issues and to provide consultation, coaching and mentoring within the team, including effective case management, purposeful evidence-based interventions, analytical assessments and high quality written work
  • Support team development and recruitment process
  • Line management responsibility for a small number of qualified social workers and non-qualified staff
  • Financial and resources responsibility for team budget
  • Deputise for the Team Manager as required
  • Manages a complex caseload, organises and co-ordinates
  • appropriate care plans (LAC, CP, CIN, and Pathway Plans) in conjunction with carers, multi-disciplinary teams and statutory, voluntary and private agencies, including cases involving cross borough working and organised abuse
  • Makes use of, and participates in, the development of management information systems, including IT recording, retrieval and analysis of and development of networks with voluntary and other agencies

Requirements of the Advanced Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children’s services
  • Specialist knowledge of an area of social work practice with children and families that can be used across the service
  • Communicating openly and effectively
  • Professionalism
  • Ability to establish and maintain a range of effective communication and participation mechanisms to involve a range of people from a variety of backgrounds, gaining their confidence and trust
  • Ability to provide effective leadership to professional staff
  • Ability to research relevant information, and to participate in action planning, in order to further develop sustainable services
  • Ability to make well considered decisions based on evidence of need
  • Hold a current drivers licence and have a car available for work
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the Children Act 1989, 2004, Children and Social Work Act 2017, Working Together 2017 and other relevant legislation and frameworks
  • Knowledge of predisposing risk factors to vulnerability and risk for children and young people
  • Substantial experience as a Social Worker, including child protection work
  • Substantial post qualification experience in a statutory setting
  • Successfully completed the foundation level systemic practice training
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Havering’s Equal Opportunities Policy in both service delivery to the community in relationships with colleagues and in employment practices
