Sanctuary Social Care currently has a locum vacancy based in Bath and North-East Somerset for a Deputy Team Manager. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive rate of £38 - £41 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and this role is a 3-month contract.

Duties of the Deputy Team Manager:

  • To assist the Team Manager in leading and managing the operational functions of the Team and ensure that these are carried out in the most effective manner and within the budgets allocated. To manage and develop the work of the Team and be responsible for recruitment, budgets, the promotion of equal opportunities, and ensure effective health and safety procedures.
  • To assist the Team Manager in planning, managing and controlling the Team's revenue budgets, and specialist service budgets within the postholder's portfolio on behalf of the service, ensuring that spending is appropriate, effective and properly controlled in order to ensure the delivery of a high quality and cost effective service.
  • To assist the Team Manager in managing services provided by the Team and ensure that they meet all legislative requirements, national minimum standards and inspection criteria.
  • To undertake quality assurance of the Team's work and take corrective actions as required.
  • To manage administration services within the Team.
  • To take decisions within delegated authority on individual cases involving the application of priority criteria, matters of council policy, statutory requirements, complexity and risk.
  • To plan and organise the effective and sensitive response to representations and complaints about services within the procedure, taking any necessary corrective action to ensure an appropriate response.

Requirements of the Deputy Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's services
