What you will do:
- Support the manager to develop an intensive, high-quality access team that serves as a crucial front door for services to families, addressing varying levels of need.
- Manage risk and make pivotal decisions about the threshold of need for children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Collaborate closely with the team manager, social workers, early support officers, i-ART officers, and staff from diverse disciplines to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Perform social work practices, focusing on vulnerable children and their families as well as vulnerable adults.
- Establish clear and effective referral pathways to provide the right level of support to children, families, and vulnerable adults.
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine appropriate care needs and thresholds.
- Provide expert advice and decision-making support to team officers when handling complex and high-risk cases, including child protection and Section 47 inquiries.
- Offer guidance and consultation to external agencies and the general public, maintaining high standards in safeguarding and care planning practices.
