Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the FAST Team to work full time based in Kings Lynn.

The salary package for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £45,875 per annum

Main Duties:

  1. To manage a caseload of the most complex work promoting high quality assessments and interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships, ensuring that the voice of the child is the focus of case recording and the planning of interventions
  2. To coordinate and take responsibility for ensuring the appropriate action is taken where there are complex child protection, care/placement planning, assessment or related issues, and for promoting evidence/knowledge based interventions and the use of restorative approaches
  3. To develop and maintain up to date professional knowledge to lead on ensuring that team practice complies with legislation, statutory guidance, service procedures and standards, agreed targets, and timescales
  4. To contribute to the management of the team by participating in key planning and decision making, providing professional supervision, contributing to Performance Development discussions, identifying training needs, delivering training, and deputising for the Team Manager or Assistant Team Manager in the delivery and/or allocation of case work as required
  5. To investigate complaints and produce reports and recommendations for follow up action
  6. To support quality assurance by conducting file audits and multi-agency reviews, developing, monitoring, and reviewing systems within the team, and collecting and reporting the views of children, parents, team members and multi-agency partners to contribute to improving practice and procedure
  7. To chair meetings, use effective presentational skills to represent the department in internal and external meetings, and provide verbal/written reports for court proceedings, case conferences and other arenas
  8. To develop or promote good interagency practice and county standards
  9. To maintain full, accurate, and up to date records in accordance with departmental practice and guidance, including the maintenance of electronic records on case management systems
  10. To undertake the role of Practice Educator supervising students and mentoring unqualified and newly qualified social workers as required
  11. To take on or develop a specialist role in specific areas of practice for the Team or Operational Division
  12. Through the above accountabilities and at all times, to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults

Requirements of this Social Worker job:

  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years post qualifiying experience
  • Experience of evaluating, monitoring and developing the quality of child care practice
  • Understanding of relevant legislation
  • Continual professional development
  • Social Work England registered
