Sanctuary Social Care has permanent vacancy for a Senior Social Worker to work full-time based in Windsor and Maidenhead, within the Children with Disabilities Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Adult's Services and be registered with Social Work England.

The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker role is £39,303 - £46,773 per annum.

Duties:

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children in line with the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, Children and Families Act 2014, and working Together to Safeguard Children guidance 2013, giving due consideration to their race, culture, religion and linguistic background.

  • To assess or investigate such cases as are referred, within the department's eligibility criteria, to establish level and type of need.

  • To carry a caseload and be responsible for assessment and planning for children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements, consistently maintaining the highest level of professional standards.

  • To work to range of legal options to support investigation and protection and accommodation; if required give evidence in court; using contingency planning to anticipate complexity and changing circumstances.

  • Complete longer-term work with families in order to meet identified need and improve outcomes.

  • To ensure the provision of clear written reports to child protection conferences, reviews, planning meetings and any other purpose as required, ensuring good quality casework analysis and risk assessment is evident throughout.

  • To ensure reports and case notes are prepared for Court are of high quality, and to support and prepare workers in the Court process, including giving evidence in Court, as required.

  • To work with children and young people, families, carers and communities to formulate care plans in partnership, based on their assessment of need, enabling them to clarify and express their needs and contribute to their planning.

Requirements of the Senior Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work

  • Current Social Work England registration

  • Significant senior level frontline experience within Adult's services

  • Good understanding of the Children Act 1998/2004 and the Children and Families Act 2014.

  • Experience with Disabled Children/CIN/CP/LAC

  • Experience of working directly with children

  • Experience of working with children and families in either a voluntary of statutory setting

  • Familiarity with the local single assessment framework, Working Together (2015), Pan Berkshire Child Protection Procedures and looked after Children processes

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, procedures and practice

  • Sound written, and verbal skills

  • Demonstrate strong organisational ability, including the ability to work on initiative and to prioritise workloads to meet agreed deadlines.

  • Manage priorities and work under pressure displaying initiative and creativity

  • Influence, develop and change the motivation and behaviour of people to achieve objectives.

  • Demonstrate a high level of determination, personal drive, energy and ambition to achieve challenging targets and improve outcomes.

  • Demonstrate clear knowledge and understanding of data quality, information security and sharing requirements.

  • Provide evidence of your experienced in the use of ICT, including MS Word, Outlook and case record management systems
