Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to work full-time in Luton, within the Assessment Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Senior Social Worker job is £34.00 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 6-month contract.


Duties of the Senior Social Worker:

  • To assess for and provide services to children in need within the framework
  • To ensure that services are efficiently and effectively provided
  • To maintain high standards of professional practice within own workload
  • To manage a caseload of children and families
  • To carry out single assessments
  • To prepare Conference report
  • To implement Child Protection and LAC procedures as and when required
  • To help to develop interventions by working with other professionals
  • To undertake investigations under Section 47s on allocated and duty cases as required
  • To provide reports as required for child protection case conferences, children in need meetings, permanency meetings, child care reviews and in court processes
  • To give evidence in court when required


Requirements of the Senior Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
  • At least 3 years safeguarding experience (preferably Referral & Assessment)
