Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker/Social Worker to work full-time within a Child and Family Intervention Service (Pre-Birth Specialist) across various locations in West Sussex. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with Social Work England.
The salary for this permanent Senior/Social Worker job is £29,597 - £42,965 per annum.
Summary:
- The Child and Family Intervention Service is a specialist service providing a range of interventions based on Developmental Trauma, Attachment Theory and practice for families with children on Child Protection Plans and in the Public Law Outline including legal proceedings and Children in Need.
- Interventions include PAMS assessments and teaching programmes, pre-birth intervention, direct work with children, developing child and parent relationships, use of Video Interactive Guidance, narrative work and protective parenting with the non-offending partner where sexual harm is a risk.
Main Duties:
- As a pre-birth specialist Social Worker, you will develop and maintain professional relationships with other agencies, including health and early help colleagues, to ensure that our pre-birth work is being managed holistically and that, as a local authority, we are providing a consistent service to families. As part of this you will regularly attend multi-agency partner meetings as a representative of children's social care and be a key point of contact within the organisation.
- Offer training to social work teams and may be required to undertake some more complex assessments for Court.
- Identify arising issues or challenges, where relevant, for our unborn children and new-born infants, contributing to the development of solutions.
- Support the ongoing implementation of the West Sussex County Council pre-birth policy and guidance, including multi-agency partner protocol, and the Ofsted improvement plan with specific focus to pre-birth practice.

Requirements of the Senior/Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in Social Work
- Current Social Work England registration
- A minimum 2 years' experience within Children's Services
