Sanctuary Social Care has an exciting job vacancy for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join a new Therapeutic Care Project at a brand new Residential Children's Assessment Unit in partnership with Innovate Therapeutic Services based in Blackpool.

This is a fixed-term contract for an initial 12 months with a probable start date of September but could be extended. Depending on experience, you will receive a salary of up to £30,000 per annum. The successful Senior Residential Childcare Worker will receive a holiday allowance of 28 days per year excluding Bank Holidays.

You will be given comprehensive mentoring, support and a thorough induction as well as ongoing training and development.

Reporting to the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager, the Senior Residential Childcare Worker will be responsible for planning and leading shifts.

The purpose of a Senior Residential Care Worker:

  • To be responsible for the 'Day Leading' in the home
  • To provide a supportive, nurturing delivery of residential therapeutic childcare in accordance with policies & procedures and Innovates Therapeutic Model.
  • To role model therapeutic practice and maintain good professional practices in accordance with the quality standards for children's homes.
  • To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person in reference to their safety, health and education.
  • To be held accountable for the safety and wellbeing of the team members and young people, whilst on shift with them.
  • To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person in reference to their safety, health and education.
  • To support in the primary tasks that assist the assessment and outreach process.
  • To support and care for children with their holistic development during everyday tasks whilst maintaining professional boundaries.

Key Elements of the Role:

  • Ensure safeguarding of all young people underpins every decision made.
  • Contribute to the young person's Therapeutic Care Plans and Risk Assessments, their review and implementation.
  • Contribute to the educational/social development of each young person.
  • Form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies.
  • Meet the emotional and physical needs of our young person and maximize opportunities for their development.
  • Ensure that young people's views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate.
  • Ensure that good quality records are maintained as required with supervision and advice from Home Managers

To be considered for this project you must have an NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People as well as previous experience as a senior residential childcare worker, working with adolescents.
