Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy based in Harnigey for a Senior Practitioner to fill a role within the Youth Justice Service.

As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive salary of £42,689 - £45,585 per annum.

We are seeking a qualified Senior Practitioner with a track record of performing to a high standard in preventing offending and reoffending.

Duties:

  • The ideal candidate will need to be a resilient and authoritative practitioner who places children and young people and their welfare at the heart of your practice.
  • You'll manage complex cases, planning intervention and support in a timely manner and, always, making sure that children and young people's voices are heard, positively influence your practice, and recorded consistently. This will include liaising effectively and efficiently with both internal and external partners to ensure that children and young people are safe. Therefore, your written and verbal communication would be second to none and you would be used to providing high quality, evidence-based assessments.
  • The Senior Practitioner in the Youth Justice Service manages a complex caseload of high-risk young people and Looked After Children, subject to YOS intervention. Working closely with family, schools and key agencies to address the factors leading to offending.

Requirements of the Senior Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
  • Experience of social work and /or criminal justice practice and deep knowledge and understanding of youth justice and children's legislation and the ability to build strong working relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
