Sanctuary Social Care has locum vacancy for a Senior Practitioner to work full-time based in Dunstable within a Looked After Children's Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Senior Practitioner role is £32 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is a 6-month contract.

Duties:

  • Advocate for children, young people and families
  • Assess the needs of children, young people and families so that plans made are timely and evidence-based
  • Plan, implement, review & evaluate interventions to ensure great outcomes for families using up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, research and best practice
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of service improvement plans
  • Maintain accurate, up to date child records
  • Provide witness expertise in legal proceedings
  • Provide support/guidance to Social Workers (ASYE, Level 1 and Level 2)
  • Deputise for Team Manager

Requirements of the Senior Practitioner:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
  • Must have experience with looked after children
