Key Responsibilities:
- Foster Carer Recruitment: Assist in recruiting and assessing foster carers to meet the evolving needs of the fostering service.
- Enquiry Management: Oversee and respond to enquiries from prospective foster carers, providing guidance throughout the onboarding process.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing and Assessment teams to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies aligned with Ofsted service delivery plans.
- Training and Support: Participate in co-working to deliver training for potential foster carers, supporting their journey from initial interest to approval.
- Team Supervision: Provide supervision and guidance to enquiry officers, ensuring their work aligns with service standards and best practices.
Skills and Attributes:
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for engaging with foster carers, colleagues, and external partners.
- Organisational Ability: Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritise duties, and meet tight deadlines.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess prospective foster carers thoroughly and contribute to strategic recruitment plans.
- Leadership: Demonstrate supervisory skills, offering guidance and mentorship to support staff.
- Legislative Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fostering regulations, child protection legislation, and Ofsted standards.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Social Work Qualification: A recognised Social Work degree (e.g., BA Social Work, MA Social Work, or equivalent).
- Registration: Current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience: Significant post-qualified experience in fostering, including recruitment, assessment, and supervision.
- Fostering Knowledge: Understanding of fostering processes, relevant legislation, and best practices in child welfare.
