Sanctuary Social Care currently has a permanent vacancy for an experienced and dedicated Senior Practitioner to work within a Fostering Team based in Berkeley (Bristol,Gloucester). The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with the HCPC.
As the post holder of this role, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,000 - £36,000 per annum.
Responsibilities:
- To contribute to the effective day to day practice of the fostering service
- Recruit, assess, train and support foster carers, working in partnership with team members to provide a high quality and safe service for foster families and the children/young people they look after
- Promote great outcomes for children and young people looked after
- Provide line management to designated supervising social workers and cover line management responsibility when required
- Actively engage in and uphold the values of the agencyRequirements of the Senior Practitioner
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current HCPC registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
- 3 years' experience of working in fostering/child related social work.
- Experience of supervision of students or staff
- A full driving license
- Recent experience of case work in Fostering proceedings.
- Knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Children Act 2004, Children and Families Act 2014 and any other legislation relevant to the needs of looked after children, care leavers and foster carers
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient IT skills across all window based applications
- Ability to analyse information and report on its contents
