Sanctuary Social Care is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Independent Reviewing Officer to work full-time within a Safeguarding & QA service based in Barking & Dagenham. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Social Work Practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Independent Reviewing Officer job is £42.00 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.
About the role:
- The service is responsible for monitoring and reviewing all care plans for looked after children and children subject to child protection plans to ensure that outcomes improve for children and young people who require statutory services, and that practice meets statutory requirements.
- The Senior IRO is a hybrid role which involves 50% practice as an independent reviewing officer (IRO) and 50% management of a group of 5.5 IROs.
- The IRO role is a specialist independent role with professional accountability enshrined in statutory guidance to deliver responsibilities to promote and safeguard the welfare of children.
Requirements of the Independent Reviewing Officer:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant experience within a similar role
