Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Safeguarding Social Worker to work full-time based in Cirencester (Cotswold). The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in children's services and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is up to £35 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Summary:

  • Caseload - In Gloucestershire we are committed to ensuring our social workers are managing an average caseload of 18 children & young people. In doing so it will allow meaningful direct work to take place to ensure the appropriate support and intervention is in place in a timely way.
  • Team Structures - To ensure our social workers are provided with the appropriate support we have reshaped our children's case holding teams to create smaller teams with 5-7 social workers to one team manager who are then overseen by a Head of Service. These smaller teams have improved the transparency of performance and allow managers to provide better oversight of case work and staff development.

In return we offer:

  • Expenses - We are prepared to offer the following expenses for an initial 3-month period, to note this does not impact on the role being inside IR35. The total allowance of mileage and/or accommodation is £100 a week based on the candidate working a full week.
  • Accommodation - We are prepared to make a contribution of £25 a night (up to £100 a week). This is agreed per candidate as part of the offer process and has T&C attached.
  • Mileage - If candidates are travelling over 60 miles a day (round trip) then we will contribute 20p a mile for every mile over the initial 60 miles.
  • Flexible Working - We are prepared to consider any flexible working arrangements that social workers may have on a case by case arrangement as part of the interview. Some of our current arrangements include a period of time working from home and/or condensed hours. Staff are issued with modern laptops, smart phones and remote working. We are also improving our accommodation to make them modern spaces to support the working environment including video conferencing facilities to reduce travel to meetings and increase time for social workers to be with families.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Significant senior level frontline experience within children's services
