Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Safeguarding Lead Social Worker to work full-time in Guildford, Surrey - within the Children's Team. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice in Children's Services and be registered with Social Work England.
The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £42 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties:
- To take the lead and co-ordinate ACT's Referral Pathway.
- To effectively manage the enquiries and referrals into ACT.
- To be actively involved in assessing risk and leading on Consultations at ACT
- To attend Strategy and Multi Agency Meetings, Case Conferences and Child in Need meetings.
- To have some involvement in the assessment of families and carers
- Conduct and apply AIM2 assessment with Children and adolescents and their families and carers (training will be provided)
- To work closely with partnership agencies around cases of sexually harmful behaviour
- To write reports focusing risk enhancing and risk diminishing factors
Requirements of the Social Worker:
- Degree or equivalent in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Significant senior level frontline experience within Children's Services
- Ability to effectively engage with people in complex situations both short-term and building professional relationships over time
- Ability to engage in difficult conversations in challenging situations and with people who may be resistant.
- Ability to routinely explain professional reasoning, judgements and decisions made and record these in a clear concise way
- Ability to make skilled professional judgement for interventions including in crises and in response to challenge
- Ability to understand and take account of differentials in power, and use authority appropriately
