Job Title: Registered Social Care Manager – Children’s Home

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Social Care Manager to join a solo children’s home in Tameside. This role offers an impressive £46.00 hourly rate on an ongoing basis, providing flexibility with both full-time and part-time options. You will be covering maternity leave from March to October 2025, managing a dedicated and permanent staff team based in Ashton-under-Lyne. This role requires on-site presence five days a week, with additional Out of Hours cover on a rota basis (Friday to Monday and Bank Holidays).

Leadership & Management: Oversee and manage the children’s home team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
Operational Oversight: Ensure the home operates in compliance with Ofsted regulations and statutory guidelines.
Care Planning: Develop and implement individualised care plans tailored to each child’s unique needs and goals.
Inter-Agency Collaboration: Coordinate with external agencies, health professionals, and social workers to provide comprehensive support.
Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with local services and promote the home within the community.
Financial Management: Manage budgets effectively to ensure resources are used efficiently for the welfare of the children.
Out of Hours Support: Provide essential Out of Hours cover on a scheduled basis (Friday to Monday and Bank Holidays).
Qualifications: Must hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
Registration: Must be a registered manager with Ofsted and have completed the Fit Person interview.
Experience: Proven leadership experience in a children’s residential care setting, ideally managing solo children’s homes.
Knowledge: Expertise in PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and Team Teach methodologies is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong leadership, risk assessment, and team management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality care.
