Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work based in Chelmsford.

The pay rate for this locum Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) is £20.06 - £34.01 per hour (assignment rate) and has an initial 1-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • Work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering 24 hour mental health access and information in the locality of the Trust.
  • Act as a role model to HCAs, supervising to ensure high quality care is given.
  • Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users clinicians, and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Deliver high quality, effective operational service to people with urgent mental health needs in the Central locality, in accordance with the principles and objective of the Trust and its vision as identified in the service.
  • Work collaboratively with others within the new organisation to provide and exemplary level of care to service users and their carers.
  • Deliver effective individualised care by supervising staff in the assessment of patient’s condition.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with individual clients, relatives, and carers are maintained by the nursing team. Write and contribute towards the formulation of care plans.
  • Act as a mentor to student nurses and provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues.
  • Be responsible along with other nursing staff for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of all care aspects of individual care planning.

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN):

  • Degree or equivalent within Nursing (RMN trained).
  • NMC registration and a valid live pin.
  • Recent UK Nursing experience.
  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Understanding of/and the ability to conduct assessments and review of care in line with the requirements of the mental health care clusters.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health legislation, principles of CPA and Care Management, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act 1983 and safeguarding, the NHS Constitution, and risk assessment/management.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning through CPD for self.
  • Understanding of the nature of mental health conditions and how they can affect people’s day to day life and impact upon recovery.
  • Experience of using an electronic information system.
  • Experience of and participation in audit and research.
  • Literate in IT/Computer Skills.
  • Ability to travel across sites and across Trust boundaries to attend meetings etc.
