Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company within the private and public sector has a locum role for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to work within the IAPT Service, based in Salisbury.

The pay rate for this locum Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) is £29.60 per hour (assignment rate) and is a 1-month contract.

Main Duties:

  • Work within the IAPT service providing high volume low intensity interventions which will be a range of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self-management interventions to service to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

  • Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery

  • Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or steps-up the persons treatment to high intensity.

  • Provide a range of information and support for evidence based high volume, low–intensity psychological treatments. This may include guided self – help computerised CBT, information about pharmacological treatments. This work may be face to face, telephone or via other media.

  • Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.

  • Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary.

  • Ensure clear objectives are identified, discussed, and reviewed with senior therapists on a regular basis as part of continuing professional development.

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN):

  • Degree or equivalent within Nursing (RMN trained).

  • NMC registration and a valid live pin.

  • Recent UK Nursing experience.

  • IAPT Training as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (Low Intensity) or equivalent IAPT recognized qualification in CBT interventions.

  • Evidence of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.

  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.

  • Computer literate.

  • Car driver with ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation.
