Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Registered Mental Health Nurse to work full-time within a Specialist Eating Disorders Service based in Epsom. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of mental health nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The pay rate for this locum Mental Health Nurse job is £29 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.

Summary:

  • The Surrey-wide Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service [CEDS] is based at Willow in Epsom and provides effective care, treatment and support to young people up to 18 years old in their local communities.
  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work in conjunction with other MDT professionals in CEDS, CAMHS Community Services [Tier 3], Early Intervention in Pyschosis, HOPE and other relevant services/ organisations to assess plan and evaluate the care of young people referred to the service, and will act as care coordinator as required.
  • You will work alongside your other MDT colleagues and other CEDS Professional Leads and be expected to support the whole team in continuing to deliver the NHS England Access and Waiting Times targets. Working to local and national policies the Clinical Nurse Specialist will work together with the Surrey EDS multi disciplinary team to provide support and care to young people referred to the service.
  • He/she will ensure young persons are assessed and contribute to the treatment/ care plans for the young people, working as part of the whole system of multi-agency working.
  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist will have responsibility for the care management of a case load and will have clinical governance over the nursing caseload also.

Main duties:

  • To contribute to specialist eating disorder assessment and treatment services in the specialist multi-disciplinary Children and Young Persons Service (CYPS)
  • To provide therapy assessment, consultation and treatment taking responsibility for managing own caseload while sharing case responsibility and treatment care with professionals from within CYPS and across partnership agencies such as Children's Services and generic CAMHS.
  • To provide leadership, consultation and supervision to junior nurses working with children and adolescents with eating disorders and to colleagues within the team
  • To be clinically accountable and have oversight of the eating disorders enhanced and standard pathway caseloads for the Nursing team.

Requirements of the Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent within Mental Health Nursing (RMN trained)
  • NMC registration and a valid live pin
