Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a permanent vacancy for a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse to work 37.5 hours per week based in Ashby, on an Adults Acute Ward.

Shift Patterns:

  • 7-day shift pattern including early, late & long days

Pay Rates:

  • Days £20.06
  • Nights/Saturdays £27.29
  • Sundays/Bank Holidays £34.51

Duties:

  • Take professional responsibility as a named nurse for an identified group of patients
  • Assist in providing an environment that is satisfactory to maintain the physical and mental wellbeing of patients and staff
  • Deliver appropriate and effective evidence based clinical care without direct supervision
  • Actively support and participate in the provision of joint Health and Social Care Services/interventions, ensuring co-operation and collaboration at all times
  • Ensure everyone has their right to be treated with respect and have their values and beliefs maintained and that they receive care that maintains their privacy and dignity
  • Lead a team of associate Nurses and Support Workers in delivering continuous effective evidence based care
  • Carry out comprehensive assessment including risk assessment with patients on admission to the area and at appropriate intervals thereafter
  • Devise and implement individual strategies of care in conjunction with the client, care giver and members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate, regularly evaluating and modifying the strategy as required
  • Provide a high standard of care in accordance with Trust policies and procedures
  • Carry out clinical procedures in relation to effective patient care and contribute to the training of junior staff in these procedures as appropriate
  • Ensure the correct administration of drugs in accordance with the Trust’s policy and legal requirement
  • Actively participate in the Trust observation/engagement policy and be aware of the patient’s whereabouts if required, at all times
  • Actively participate and contribute in the development, provision and facilitation of the overall Trust service plan and in particular the development of a modern and progressive recovery service within the quality assurance frameworks
  • Respect the rights of the individual service users and their families, embracing values, spiritual beliefs and customs in accordance with the NMC code of conduct
  • Maintain all professional, personal and clinical information of service users in a confidential manner according to the current confidentiality policy of The Trust, utilising clinical supervision where appropriate
  • Actively participate in all aspects of individual supervision and to facilitate same for other designated staff members
  • Actively participate in all aspects of individual performance development review on an annual basis
  • Contribute to the facilitation of an effective learning environment for all learners, providing opportunities for the achievement of learner competencies
  • Maintain own registration requirements in accordance with re validation and NMC regulations
  • Undertake all mandatory training required for the post
  • Ensure individual compliance with Health and Safety at Work and COSH regulations
  • Ensure a high standard of record keeping and activity recording in accordance with the Trust Policy and procedures

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:

  • Degree or equivalent within Mental Health Nursing (RMN trained)
  • NMC registration and a valid live pin
  • Understand the principles of, and contribute to, the facilitation of a consistent and effective approach to the nursing process and care programme approach and complete the documentation to the required standard
  • Understand and adhere to The Trust Policies and Procedures
  • Be flexible and must be prepared to carry out similar or related tasks, which do not fall within the duties previously outlined
