Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to work based in Faslane.

The salary for this Registered Mental Health Nurse job is £36,000 - £38,000 per annum.

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday – Friday

Duties:

  • Work as part of a team to deliver an exceptional OH service to our client and help bring success to this contract and the Company
  • Provide expert, evidence-based case management services for referrals relating to attendance, fitness for work and other requests for OH advice when mental health is a factor
  • Provide professional, comprehensive and evidence based written reports
  • Ensure that the correct advice in relation to fitness to carry out role is communicated to the Client, escalating where clinically appropriate
  • Use professional and evidence-based knowledge, to assess, refer and signpost employees to appropriate support outside Occupational Health
  • Provide all advice in the context of legislative and statutory regulations and best practice requirements in OH and mental health
  • Provide subject matter expertise to Babcock’s Health and Wellbeing Lead to facilitate the delivery of The Client’s
  • Training and awareness sessions to Mental Health First Aiders and others workplace stakeholders
  • Policy and strategy for managing mental health in the context of the Client’s business
  • Procurement of appropriate and competent support for employees from their 3rd party support services in the mental health arena (e.g. Employee Assistance programme, Local Counselling provider)
  • Maintain valid and up to date registration with the NMC and comply with NMC guidelines in relation to professional issues, clinical supervision and continuous learning and development as a registered nurse
  • Consistently act in a compliant manner in line with DHC/HP policies and procedures
  • Provide support to the wider OH team and undertake health surveillance, case management and drug and alcohol testing when required
  • Training and awareness sessions to Mental Health First Aiders and others workplace stakeholders
  • Procurement of appropriate and competent support for employees from their 3rd party support services in the mental health arena (e.g. Employee Assistance programme, Local Counselling provider)
  • Case Management and provision of advice in relation to the workplace/occupation
  • Case Management and provision of OH advice
  • Development and Delivery of relevant training programmes

Requirements of the Registered Mental Health Nurse:

  • Registration NMC Part 1 – Registered Nurse – Mental Health and/or Adult
  • Experience of working with individuals in the community or a in specialist unit in at least one of the following sectors: NHS, private healthcare, occupational health, mental health charity or the armed forces
  • Meticulous written skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Understanding of own competence, how this relates to practice and where to escalate/seek support to ensure safe practice
  • Approachable, polite and friendly to build and maintain strong working relationships and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • IT literacy and competence
  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles and practice of data protection and confidentiality in OH
  • Excellent knowledge of occupational health and employment legislation
  • Flexible and hard working
  • Visible commitment to excellence in practice and a convincing advocate of proactive occupational health service delivery
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary OH team
  • General medicals and health surveillance experience
  • Registration: NMC Part 3- Registered Specialist Comm Public Health Nurse – OH or significant experience working in an occupational health context
  • Ability to present to groups
  • Knowledge of OH service delivery in a wide range of settings
  • Registered with BACP with an accredited qualification in counselling or psychotherapy
