Sanctuary Social Care is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to work 40 hours per week. based in Manchester, within the Independent Fostering Agency.

The salary for this permanent Registered Manager job is £60,000 per annum.

Duties:

  • Support the registration of the Agency
  • Be accountable for the strategic planning and development aspects of fostering resources and support functions in the company
  • Working in accord with the policies and procedures of Purecare Fostering relevant to the national guidelines
  • Promote and work with an awareness that Purecare Fostering provides a professional fostering service for local authorities when placing children and young people
  • Recruitment, retention and supervision of carers ensuring positive outcomes for children
  • Managing placements and ensuring children's wellbeing is of paramount importance
  • Management of the service and Staff including managing supervising social workers
  • Promoting and maintaining excellent relationships with Local Authorities
  • Monitoring record taking by staff and ensuring paperwork is filled in accordance to legislation and policy
  • Ensuring monthly/yearly reports are being provided
  • Ensuring any matters relating to the safeguarding of children are managed in line with regulations, national standards and best safeguarding practice

Requirements of the Registered Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in Social Work
  • HCPC registration
  • In-depth experience of working within a fostering service for children
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Possess a high level and detailed working knowledge of relevant legislation and the impact on the fostering service
  • Ability to satisfy Ofsted as a Registered Manager
  • Proven staff management experience and leadership skills including recruitment, supervision, monitoring and disciplinary (or working towards an accredited qualification)
  • Knowledge of Ofsted, National Minimum Standards for Fostering services and Fostering Services Regulations
  • Communication and administrative skills i.e communicating verbally and in writing
  • Budgeting and financial control capabilities
  • Ability to run the day-to-day practice and business aspects of the fostering agency
  • Negotiating and making placement enquries by liaising with Local Authorities
  • Ability to implement the vision and strategy Purecare Fostering
  • Ability to review and monitor outcomes and make sound and safe decisions in all aspect of running the agency
  • Working well on their own initiative whilst also engaging with the team
  • An ability to maintain judgement when working under pressure
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritise workloads
  • Recent experience working either as a Fostering Operations Manager or as a Fostering Registered Manager for a Independent Fostering Agency
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent qualification)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
