Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a job based in Chesterton for a Band 5 Registered General Nurse to work 37.5 hours per week, within the Looked After Children Team.
The pay rate for this locum Registered General Nurse job is £21 per hour (Assignment rate) and is an initial 3-month contract.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday – Friday
- 09:00 am – 17:00 pm
- 30 min unpaid break
Duties:
- Provide comprehensive health screening and assessment for Looked After Children and young people at risk of offending or known offenders
- Provide health promotion (family planning, teenage pregnancy, substance misused guidance) to the target group
- Provide the target group with access to inclusive primary health care services via dedicated community nursing support (for example immunisation, fast tracking access to doctors, dentists, opticians and parenting support)
- Practice autonomously and demonstrate evidence based clinical decision making
- Work within guidelines to identify and manage risk, reporting any identified risks to the lead nurse
- Link with the child or young persons named social worker or personal assistant and other professionals and will work actively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, whose priority is the care of looked after children and young people (including young offenders)
- Be responsible for implementing policies relating to the health needs of Looked after Children and young people, care leavers and young offenders
- Be responsible for co-ordinating healthy needs assessments; ensuring individual packages of care are formulated and implemented
- Provide support and training to a wide range of professionals in order to promote the health of looked after children, care leavers and young offenders
- Contribute to the development of the service for this client group
- Co-ordinate and deliver on the statutory health assessment process for all looked after children
- Demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users’ and their careers
Requirements of the Registered General Nurse:
- RGN qualified
- Active NMC Registration
