Sanctuary Personnel, a leading recruitment company to the private and public sector has a locum vacancy for a Public Health Lead to work based in South West London, within the Local Authority Public Health Team.
The pay rate for this locum Public Health Lead job is negotiable and is an initial 3-month contract.
Duties:
- Lead on three key projects in the Public Health Team’s Health Protection Portfolio
- Flu planning and assurance Cold Weather Preparedness Cancer Screening assurance
- Assist with any other areas of Health Protection Team work as required
- Planning and assurance
- Finalise and deliver the (Public Health) PH team flu action plan (providing progress reporting and updates)
- Obtain systems assurances and deliver required reporting
- Lead PH input into communications and engagement planning group
- Support Occupational Health in the staff programme
- Lead the Local Authority contribution to the flu agenda in the Immunisation Steering Group
- Any other flu related work and actions that are requested by the Senior Public Health Lead / Consultant in Public Health /Director of Public Health
- Refresh and compile guidance and information for cascade in accordance with the Cold Weather Plan for England, with any local plans as deemed appropriate
- Develop a one-page plan for internal reference of cold weather action and preparedness
- Develop a severe weather Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for alerts and cascades, supporting business continuity in team member absence
- Refresh cascade contact list as required to ensure adequate coverage of alerts and cascade of information
- Monitor cold weather alerts and lead on alert escalation cascades, resharing information with listed partners
- Cascade information to accountable partners and support systems preparedness ahead of severe weather events based on requirements set out in the cold weather plan
- Work with PH Core team members with regards to the Winter Warmth initiative
- Develop preparatory communications for cascade during a severe weather event
- Develop an assurance approach and compile/collate assurances prior or following a severe weather event
- Supporting any immediate responses and actions required in the event of a severe weather event
- Prepare updates and briefings to the PH Board and Borough Resilience Forum or other boards/meetings as required
- Any other weather preparedness related work and actions that are requested by the Senior Public Health Lead / Consultant in Public Health /Director of Public Health
- Work with commissioners to review cancer screening programmes, undertaking review and analysis of local data
- Support the development and delivery of action plans to address programme issues
- Develop and support communications and engagement to improve local uptake
- Provide updates and briefings to the PH Board and DMT as required
- Any other cancer screening assurance related work and actions that are requested by the Senior Public Health Lead / Consultant in Public Health /Director of Public Health
- Health Protection Team work and support
- Assist with any other Health Protection work as required by the Director of Public Health / Consultant in Public Health or Senior Public Health Lead
Requirements of the Public Health Lead:
- Experience working in Public Health, project management, good communication skills and ability to analyse and interpret data are essential
- A Masters In Public Health
- Experience working in Health Protection
- Experience working in Local Authority
